We have been learning about sound in science. Over the last 2 weeks we have investigated how to change the pitch of sound. We used the instruments to explore what makes a pitch higher or lower and then created our own panpipes to prove our theory.

We have been learning about sound in science. Over the last 2 weeks we have investigated how to change the pitch of sound. We used the instruments to explore what makes a pitch higher or lower and then created our own panpipes to prove our theory.

Following on from this lesson we built on our learning of how sound travels to find out how a telephone works. We learnt about Alexander Graham Bell and then made our own string telephones to test if the science works using string rather than wire… to our surprise it did!
