World Book Day 2024 – PJ Day!

It’s here again… World Book Day and this year our theme is Bedtime stories so we all came to school in our pyjamas!

We began the day by sharing the sock puppets of our favourite book characters that we made!

Following this, we created our own top trumps of book characters, we rated their spirit of adventure, how magic and evil they were and how old we thought they were ! We drew a picture, then on the back of the card a character description describing their appearance and personality.

Our sock puppets helped us out too!

Our next activity of the day was creating a piece of artwork of another of our favourite book characters. We drew half our character, then for the other half we wrote words and clues as to who our character was… we had to keep their identity a secret for people to guess during our open gallery walk around later!

To finish the day we had a whole school book quiz! It really tested our book knowledge!

We love World Book Day!

Water Cycle… For the Swifties!

In both Science and Geography, we have been learning about states of matter and the water cycle. To really fix it in our brain, we have learnt a song to the tune of ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift all about the process of the water cycle! It has definitely stuck in our brain!
